As the Christmas season approached, BCC's Social & Humanitarian team organized a large-scale care package distribution across 8 communities in the Ngada and Nagekeo regencies of Flores.
## What's in a Care Package
Each care package contained:
- 5kg of rice
- Cooking oil and basic spices
- Canned goods and dried foods
- Hygiene products (soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste)
- Children's clothing and shoes
- School supplies for families with children
- A personal note of encouragement from BCC volunteers
## Distribution Days
Our team of 30 volunteers spent 4 days traveling to communities:
- **Day 1**: Bajawa town center — 120 packages
- **Day 2**: Aimere and surrounding villages — 100 packages
- **Day 3**: Golewa and Soa — 130 packages
- **Day 4**: Mbay and Riung — 150 packages
## Impact Stories
"My children were so happy when they saw the new shoes and school supplies," said Mama Ina from Golewa. "It's the best Christmas gift they could have received."
Many families in these communities live below the poverty line and struggle to provide adequate food and clothing, especially during festive seasons when expenses increase.
